I ran into Brittany Murphy at the Scream 3 premiere (she's really working it), who told
me her project may have been delayed because of a music-rights problem. "I know the
rights are available this month," she says. "I'll know more about [the movie's
progress] after we find out about the music rights." Is she still psyched to play
The Rose--I mean, Joplin? "Of course!" she squeals. "I'd do it in a
heartbeat."
