By William Keck Brittany Murphy has no doubt about who's the most important person in her life: her mother, Sharon, a breast-cancer survivor. "For as long as I can remember, it's been my mom and me against the world," she says. "We have a unique and beautiful relationship." The Atlanta native even shares an apartment with Sharon, in Hollywood. (Brittany's parents split when she was a toddler.) Best known for her turn as mental patient Angelina Jolie drove to suicide in Girl, Interrupted, the 32-year-old actress has three big films out this year. In August she puckered up to Matthew Lillard in Summer Catch, and this month falls for the wrong guy in Sidewalks of New York. And she boned with Drew Barrymore on the set of Riding in Cars with Boys, out in October. "We were like energetic soul sisters," Brittany says. "We just glowed"
