Fall 2001
Age: 23 You know her as: Daisy, the chicken-eating mental patient in Girl, Interrupted, and Cher's makepver project in Clueless. Up next: this month's grown-up romantic comedy Sidewalks of New York. In the fall, she plays Drew Barrymore's best friend in Riding in Cars with Boys, a comedy-drama with a Terms of Endearment tissue quota. Her idea of the perfect day: " I'd drive to Joshua Tree National Park, where people would be playing bongos and everyone would be dressed like Sally Bowles from Caberet. We's eat my mom's stuffed artichokes, watch dancing bears andoh... oh... maybe Bob Fosse would be there." Dating status: currently too bust to be anything but single. "I'm not good with labels, so I've only been on a handful of outings that could be called dates." Her romantic theory: "Attraction is very viceral for me. It sounds like wacko flower power, but I feel love is about the molecules and energy between two people. I believe we all have one true love, but for now I prefer not to know where mine is." On Drew Barrymore: "We were together for so many monthis filming Riding in Cars with Boys, and I didn't crave my girldriends once because I had Drew. I miss her hugs now. The space she lives in is all beautiful pink, puffy clouds and sunshine." Her ever-changing hair color: "Right now it's a mix of strawberry, caramel and lemon lollipop. I miss my natural dark hair." Her dreamy yet slightly murderous attitude towards costars: "Doing a scene with David Krumholtz in Sidewalks of New York was like floating in a dream. I wanted to bite his head off, make a stew out of it and feed everyone in the universe."
